A treasure trove of memories made at International Day
Posted on: 03/03/2020We were once again delighted to welcome over 250 primary school children from Didcot and surrounding areas to our annual International Day.
Children ‘went around the world’ in just a few steps, collecting stamps in their passports for each of the country stands they visited, including Germany, where they learned all about its traditional fairy tales and Greece, where they explored traditional dress.
Our young guests were guided round by over 40 pc28开奖网站 Year 8 girls, who did an outstanding job in supporting them and representing pc28开奖网站. Many of the pc28开奖网站 girls were able to use this experience to count towards their ‘Gold’ badge on the pc28开奖网站 leadership ladder, having acted as role models for the younger children.
pc28开奖网站 Governor Nic Chapman also paid a visit, along with Didcot Mayor Anthony Dearlove and deputy mayor Eleanor Hards. They joined the young travellers on their trip to Iceland, where they drew Icelandic landscapes and Japan, where they made stunning origami ‘leaping frogs’
Everyone went home with a treasure trove of memories and a bag full of arts and crafts they had created inspired by countries as far away as Mexico and as close as Wales.
